Matters Program The FSFPMMP focuses on a variety of mediums to provide multiple perspectives in age old questions and current events of fundamental freedoms. HIHR provides dozens of film festivals with various themes to allow Hawaii to travel in their minds and souls. Film festivals feature combination of documentaries, news features, foreign flicks, student productions, previously recorded campus presentations and featured films. First Amendment / Article 19 Project is the work in print news. HIHR authors weekly and monthly articles to raise awareness in community and daily newspapers. HIHR also contributes to international journals and chapters in books. HIHR teaches courses on journalism in Hawaii resulting in publishing a newspaper read across the island actually scooping the traditional press on stories concerning human rights in the state. HIHR promotes this project to point out the power of the pen and the press. The Flame of Justice is both the HR TV / HR Radio combining the visual and oral traditions to share the message of peoples movements for peace and the possibilities for positive social change. The Flame of Justice lights up the community airwaves as well as exposure on the website allowing people to understand media matters. HIHR continues to be featured on local televisions news shows and even CNN at the United Nations. First Amendment Freedom Forum Project aspires for journalists to share their stories of success in seeking the truth and feeding the hunger of humanity seeking understanding in daily affairs of politics. HIHR brings editors, reporters, columnists and hosts to speak to the community to explain the reason and right of freedom of information.
